June 2009The Technology Tent opened its doors to provide concentrated technology education to the Banjika students during a month-long school holiday. |

Thirty-six students (12 students each week for three weeks) attended class three hours a day and learned the basics of hardware, networks, file management, word processing, spreadsheets, digital photography, and solar energy. The participants agreed to pass along their knowledge to the other 565 Banjika students. |

The first week, the founding executive director of Powering Potential, Janice Lathen, led the training assisted by two Banjika teachers and two American Ph.D. candidates in computer science. The second week, Janice Lathen led the training assisted by the two Banjika teachers. The third week, the two Banjika teachers, Meshack Muyinga and Albin Mathias, led the training supervised by Janice Lathen. |

June '09 - December '10Seven technology tents have been completed - six taught by Banjika teachers. 255 students have acquired technology skills. |
